Savage Craic Club Nights

Due to popular demand we plan to re-establish Wednesday evenings in Naas Climbing Wall as Savage Craic Club nights.  Several members have expressed a desire lately to get people together in a more organised fashion so that we can catch up and climb with one another and also plan for club days in the outdoors.

As Wednesday evenings in Naas worked well in the past it is hoped that they will once again become a success and provide an opportunity for people to meet other keen climbers and create partnerships.  Climbers do need a Safe Pass in order to gain access to Naas wall on a Wednesday evening so if you are interested in joining us get stuck into your safe pass training asap!

This Wednesday evening, 4th July, Jimi will be at the wall from about 6.30pm.

Next Wednesday evening,11th July I will be at the wall from about 6pm.

We are also hoping that established members can help us out by letting us know in advance if they may be available to commit to some Wednesdays as it may not always be possible for Jimi to be present and we would like to try to avoid a situation where someone shows up alone and has no one to climb with.  So if you are able to help out in this regard can you let Jimi know.

Looking forward to seeing a lot more of you guys over the next few weeks and months!

Climbing this Sunday

We're still praying that there may be some dry weather over the week end so we're gonna keep a very close eye on things and if it looks at all possible we'll be out climbing in Dalkey this Sunday.  If the weather doesn't go our way we'll head to Gravity climbing wall instead.  If you are interested in joining us contact Jimi on Sunday morning anytime from 8am onwards to find out where we are headed.  Fingers crossed for  a dry spell !!

The Burren - The return!

Well it's off to Alladie with us again this week end.  Some folks have decided they'll take their chances with the weather on Saturday (there is a chance of some showers) and head down anyway.  Others are holding off and heading down bright and early on Sunday morning (Sunday forecast is dry).  Mr. Byrne will be joining us again so there'll be more opportunity for scrubbing up on our rope work etc.  Unfortunately he's not available on Saturday so he'll be a Sunday climber.  Forecast is again for North Easterly winds and these were very kind to us two weeks ago so fingers crossed we'll have more of the same.  We'll meet in the same camping location as last time.  If you plan to join us contact Jimi tomorrow evening (Friday 17th May) after 9pm.  Looking forward to another savage week end of climbing.

This Week End 5th and 6th May 2012

As ever Savage plans are being led by the weather and as the weather is ridiculously changeable at present so too are our plans!!  Happily the forecast has improved somewhat from what it was earlier in the week and therefore outdoor climbing has become an option again, HOORAAH!  As the winds are North-easterly climbing in the east of the country will be a chilly ordeal, therefore the west is a more favourable option.   Jimi has therefore settled on the Burren as our destination.  The crag will be nicely sheltered from the wind and the forecast is dry, therefore we should have comfortable climbing conditions.  The plan would be to climb on Saturday and Sunday or if one day suits you better than the other just pop along on whichever one suits you.  Jimi is now back on the phone so call him with your queries/comments etc.

Change of Plans for the Week End

Unfortunately due to weather conditions the trip to the Mournes has to be postponed.  However do not despare!!  We're planning a SAVAGE week end of Indoor climbing in its place.  The plan is a get together on both Saturday and Sunday so that hopefully folks who can't make it to one day will be able to come along on the other.  The sessions will take place in Naas and UCD climbing walls.  Times etc will be firmed up over the coming days, so stay tuned for more details!!
